The Artisans - Ishikawa Region Group

CULTURAL HERITAGE

Project description

As part of the Ishikawa Region Group project, conceived by Kayotei founder Masanori Kamiguchi, a handicraft school has been set up to pass on to the young people of Yamanaka the ancient production techniques of the region. Dedicated to protecting and preserving the culture of Ishikawa, the artisans still use traditional techniques for making wooden bowls and furniture, as well as lacquering them. Kayotei offers its guests the opportunity to visit the artisans' workshops and purchase their products, thus contributing to the development of the local economy and spreading the authenticity of Ishikawa culture throughout the world.
