Tour itinerary

Day 1, 30 december, welcome to the province of Parma

Make your own way to the Ecoluxury Retreats Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello, where you will be staying for the next 3 nights.

Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2, 31 December, the wonders of Parma and the New Year’s Eve dinner

After breakfast, a guided tour awaits you in the heart of Parma, one of Italy’s cultural capitals. The tour begins in the magnificent Piazza Duomo, where you can admire the grandeur of the Romanesque cathedral — which houses Correggio’s famous frescoes — and the monumental baptistery, built from pink Verona marble, a masterpiece by Benedetto Antelami. The tour continues to the imposing Palazzo della Pilotta complex, the former residence of the Farnese family. Inside, you’ll take a stroll through history, discovering the spectacular timber-framed architecture of the Teatro Farnese and the artistic treasures housed in this timeless setting. A morning brimming with beauty, before returning to the hotel to prepare for the gala dinner.

Lunch at your leisure. Stop off in the centre of Parma to sample local specialities in one of the many historic shops. It will be the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a light lunch or an aperitif featuring Parma Ham (PDO), Culatello di Zibello and shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano, all accompanied by a glass of fine local Lambrusco or Malvasia. A true journey of flavour.

Back at the hotel, the evening will continue with the exclusive New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, a gala dinner designed to celebrate the arrival of the new year in style. The event will be accompanied throughout by an engaging musical programme featuring DJ sets, creating the perfect atmosphere for dancing and having fun. As the clock strikes midnight, there will be the traditional midnight toast to welcome in the New Year in a magical and timeless setting.

Day 3, 1 January, day off

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today is at your leisure.

We suggest you take a self-guided tour of the historic centre of Fidenza, a town steeped in history and closely linked to the Via Francigena route. Strolling through its streets, you’ll reach the picturesque Piazza del Duomo, dominated by the majestic Cathedral of San Donnino, one of the finest examples of Emilian Romanesque architecture. Its famous façade, embellished with sculptures by Benedetto Antelami, is a true masterpiece of medieval art and provides a splendid setting for a break.

Continuing along the streets of the town centre, you can follow in the footsteps of the ancient Via Francigena – the route travelled for centuries by pilgrims heading for Rome – as far as Piazza Garibaldi and the monumental Porta San Donnino.

Day 4, 2 January, return

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out and independent return to your home towns.
