Nestled amongst rolling hills, enveloped by the tranquillity of ancient olive trees and the orderly contours of the vineyards, stands a historic farmhouse that harbours an enchanted spot: an extraordinary rose garden, born of the tireless passion of husband and wife Vicky and Isabella Ducrot.
For over fifty years, the Ducrots have followed the call of their travels across Asia and Europe, collecting rare varieties of wild roses. Thus, season after season, they have created a garden suspended in time, where delicate fragrances and unexpected nuances intertwine in perfect harmony with the landscape.
Here, accompanied by an expert, every step becomes a discovery: you can get up close to each species, listen to their stories and uncover the secrets of their cultivation, allowing yourself to be enveloped by an intimate and deeply immersive experience.
And when the visit comes to an end, the pleasure continues: in the heart of the garden, an elegant light lunch awaits you, where refined flavours and an exclusive atmosphere blend together, offering a moment of unparalleled, authentic beauty.
Set off in your own car and meet at the Ducrot Rose Garden in Caselle, in the Corbara area of Orvieto (TR).
On arrival, you will be welcomed by an expert who will give an introduction to the garden’s history, its ornamental purpose and the harmonious interplay between landscape, architecture and nature. You will then begin the tour. The route winds through the flower-lined paths of the rose garden.
During the walk, you will be shown the different varieties of roses present, with a focus on ancient and rare species, their botanical characteristics, scents, colours and flowering cycles, enriching the experience with interesting facts and anecdotes linked to the symbolism and history of these extraordinary flowers.
The tour continues with moments of contemplative pause, ideal for appreciating the panoramic views and the intimate atmosphere of the garden. At the end of the tour, guests will be welcomed into the estate’s garden, where a light rustic lunch will be served, designed to prolong the experience in a setting of absolute tranquillity and charm.
After the convivial pleasure of lunch, you will have free time to relax in the garden.
At the end of the day, return to your point of origin independently.
