Mindtrek is an immersive experience in nature that combines the benefits of trekking with mindfulness, creating a gradual path towards greater self-awareness. From the very first excursion, it helps to develop serenity, empathy, emotional stability and clarity, loosening the conditioning and automatisms that unconsciously influence us. It is not just walking, but a true inner journey, where the destination is not a summit but the well-being that is discovered step by step.
By integrating movement with ancient meditative practices supported by modern neuroscience, Mindtrekking promotes a return to inner peace. Abruzzo, known for the beauty and majesty of its mountains and landscapes, is the ideal setting for combining trekking and mindfulness.
Reach Sextantio Santo Stefano di Sessanio. The experience begins in Santo Stefano di Sessanio in the late morning, one of the most evocative villages in Abruzzo, suspended between history and the sky. This is where the first Mindtrekking journey begins: a route that changes with the flow of the seasons, following the rhythms of nature and the ancient rural activities that have shaped this landscape for centuries. Among awakening pastures, wildflowers and ancient mule tracks once travelled by Benedictine, Cistercian and Franciscan monks, the slow pace is in tune with conscious breathing. Short, guided meditation breaks encourage deep listening to the body and the environment, in a silent dialogue between man and the mountains.
During the walk, there will be a break with a packed lunch surrounded by nature, to savour the slow pace and authenticity of the landscape. In the afternoon, we will reach a symbolic place for meditation at sunset, with views of the plateau and the majestic surrounding peaks, which change their appearance and colours with the passing of the seasons. Dinner and overnight stay in a structure of excellence, among the ancient stones of the village.
The second day begins with a short mindful awakening practice. The walk continues along paths that, between April and July, follow the ancient routes connecting hermitages, granges and small monastic settlements. Meditative walking, mindfulness exercises and moments of deep silence alternate in a continuous dialogue between inner reflection and the immensity of the landscape. The high-altitude meadows, the ridges of the Gran Sasso and the traces of the Cistercian presence evoke a sense of freedom, simplicity and harmony.
This day also includes a stop with a packed lunch in the quiet of nature, to fully experience the slow and mindful walk. The return to Santo Stefano di Sessanio marks the end of the journey, with a final practice to integrate the experience and a time dedicated to sharing. A different kind of return: lighter, more mindful, after walking not only in space but also within oneself.
