Discovering Lipari

Arrival in Catania by flight (not included in the package) and private transfer from Catania airport to the port of Milazzo, from where you will reach Lipari by hydrofoil.

Upon arrival at the port of Lipari, go to our partner's office to pick up the rental car we have reserved for you (Fiat Panda or similar). To pick up the car, you will need a valid driver's license (original/copies not accepted) and a credit card.

Upon arrival at the hotel, you will have free time to relax after your journey.

We recommend taking a 30-minute walk to the nearby Kaolin Caves, which represent the geologically oldest part of the island of Lipari. Here, intense volcanic activity has given rise to spectacular alterations in the rocks, creating a landscape of surprising polychrome hues. For the inhabitants of Lipari, this place has always been a source of wonder, where the bright colors of the rocks, the whisper of the wind, and the scent of the sea blend together in a magical atmosphere. To protect and enhance this extraordinary natural heritage, Tenuta di Castellaro Ecoluxury retreats of the World has launched an ambitious reclamation project, transforming the Kaolin Quarries into a geomining park accessible to all.

Finally, you will have the opportunity to toast your trip with wines produced here and enjoy the excellent in-house bistro for dinner (services not included).

After breakfast, head to Lipari for a guided tour of the charming historic center. Accompanied by a local private guide, you will begin with a stroll through the picturesque streets of the ancient village, dominated by the acropolis and the imposing castle. You will reach the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo with its charming Norman cloister, and then enter the “Luigi Bernabò Brea” Regional Archaeological Museum, one of the most important in the Mediterranean. Here, the guide will recount the thousand-year history of the Aeolian Islands through precious prehistoric, Greek, and Roman artifacts, including an exceptional collection of theatrical masks. The tour ends with a panoramic view of the sea and the nearby islands.

At the end of the visit, treat yourself to a moment of relaxation on one of Lipari's beautiful beaches. Lunch is at your leisure.

In the afternoon, a short, pleasant walk will take you to a picturesque viewpoint among the rows of vines, where you can relax and taste our wines at your leisure. Here, surrounded by the beauty of the landscape, your gaze will take in Alicudi, Filicudi, and Salina: before you, the infinite horizon and the intensity of the sea will create a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. It is the ideal place to slow down, breathe, and let yourself be enveloped by the magic of the Aeolian Islands.

The picnic basket, designed to showcase the flavors of the region, includes a bottle of wine for every two people and a selection of gastronomic specialties prepared by Castellaro Bistrot. An authentic experience that combines nature, taste, and scenery, perfect for a romantic break, a moment of tranquility, or a special toast at sunset.

In the morning, after breakfast, you will reach the port where, aboard a private boat, you will enjoy an unforgettable day among the wonders of Lipari and Vulcano. Your adventure begins with a picturesque journey along the eastern coast of Lipari, amid scenery of extraordinary beauty. You will sail past the Grotta degli Angeli, the majestic Faraglioni rocks, and the bay of Praia Vinci, continuing on to Vulcanello and the island of Vulcano. Here you will make your first stop for a swim in the clear waters of Cala Piccola.

The journey continues along some of the island's most charming coves, between Cala Grande and Cala Formaggio, until you reach two of the Aeolian Islands' most iconic sites: the Piscina di Venere and the Grotta del Cavallo. The former is a spectacular natural pool surrounded by volcanic rocks, with waters that fade from green to deep blue; the latter owes its name to the characteristic rock formation that resembles a horse's head.

During the tour, you can also admire the striking Lion's Head, the Abbot's Cave, and the black beaches of Asino and Gelso, with additional stops for swimming. Sailing along Cannitello, Punta Bandiera, and Scoglio della Sirenetta, there will be a stop on the island of Vulcano, where you will have free time to visit the village, relax on the beach, or explore the volcanic environment, as well as for lunch (not included in the price).

The return to Lipari is scheduled for the afternoon, at the end of an excursion rich in landscapes, sea, and unique sights.

Here, free time becomes an opportunity to discover unique landscapes, culture, and authentic flavors. You can stroll through the narrow streets of the historic center, among colorful houses, artisan shops, and characteristic cafes. Trekking enthusiasts can explore trails through vineyards, olive groves, and cliffs overlooking the sea, admiring unforgettable sunsets.

You can also savor the local cuisine: from fresh fish dishes to typical desserts, every break becomes a complete sensory experience. Whether it's adventure, relaxation, or taste, Lipari offers unforgettable moments for everyone.

After breakfast, begin your return journey to the port of Lipari in time to return your rental car and catch your boat to Milazzo.
