Royal Rajasthan and Ranthambore

Arrival in Delhi. Border and customs formalities, then meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Breakfast.

Day dedicated to visiting Delhi: the Red Fort from the outside, the Jama Majid Friday Mosque, the Sikh Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Temple. Afterwards we visit the mausoleum of Emperor Humayun, the garden - maintained by the Aga Khan Foundation - and the Qutb Minar archaeological park, with the 72-metre-high Victory Tower, dating back to the 13th century and a symbol of Delhi.

Free lunch and dinner. Overnight stay.

Transfer to the airport and flight to Udaipur, the white city on the shores of Lake Pichola. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Free lunch.

Afternoon visit to the City Palace, a set of royal palaces built on the banks of Lake Pichola, and the Jagdish Temple. Late afternoon boat ride on the lake (shared with other passengers).

Free dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Departure in the direction of Jodhpur.

Arrive at the fantastic Ranakpur temple (built in 1439) with its roof supported by 440 historiated columns, one of the wonders of India for the fineness of its sculptures.

Free lunch. Continuation to Jodhpur. Arrival and accommodation in the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

Entire day dedicated to visiting Jodhpur: the splendid Mehrangarh Fort, dating from 1459, which dominates the city from the top of a cliff and still has magnificent cannons on its ramparts, the Clock Tower, located in the heart of the old part, the beautiful Mandore Gardens.

Free lunch and dinner. Overnight stay.

Transfer in the direction of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Free lunch. Arrival and accommodation in the hotel.

In the afternoon, visit to one of the city's famous local markets.

We drive to Amber, the Rajput capital before the founding of Jaipur, for a visit to the impressive Man Singh Fort from the late 16th century. We ascend the fort, on a small hill, by Jeep. Photo stop at the Palace of the Winds, made of red sandstone; the façade is a set of niches and windows, almost a thousand in number, finely worked to resemble lace. The palace served as an observatory from which the women of the court, unseen, could watch the life of the city.

Free lunch. Afternoon visit to the City Palace complex with the palace, museum, audience court and the Astrological Observatory of Jai Singh II. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

NB: Viaggi Dell'Elefante cannot guarantee the proper treatment of the elephants used for the ascent to Amber Fort, so we have decided that the best option for our travellers is to take this journey by jeep; should you wish to ascend Amber Fort on the back of an elephant, you will be able to do so by requesting this on site from our staff and signing a waiver.

Breakfast. Transfer to Ranthambore National Park. Accommodation at the lodge and lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the Ranthambore Fort. Dinner at the lodge and overnight.

NB: Ranthambore Park is closed on Wednesdays.

Early in the morning there is a private game drive with an English-speaking ranger. Afterwards return to the Lodge for breakfast.

Morning free for relaxation. Lunch.

In the afternoon, second private game drive with English-speaking ranger. Dinner at the lodge and overnight.

Breakfast. Transfer to Jaipur airport and flight to Delhi. Free lunch. Arrival and possible accommodation in a hotel near the airport. Dinner at leisure.
