Tanzania: Discovering the Northern Parks

8 days

from 4.800 euro

An itinerary entirely carried out in 4x4 vehicles, discovering the four main parks of northern Tanzania, in the heart of one of the most unspoiled natural environments in the world. Accompanied by our expert rangers, the journey begins in Tarangire National Park, famous for its imposing baobab trees and rich wildlife; continues to Lake Manyara National Park, which Ernest Hemingway called “the most beautiful lake in Africa”; then leads to the extraordinary Ngorongoro volcanic caldera, an authentic natural sanctuary; and ends in the legendary Serengeti, the immense theater of the Great Migration, where the spectacle of wildlife is renewed every day.

This itinerary follows the “Wonders of Tanzania” tour in every detail, offering the same stops, activities, and exciting safari experiences. The only difference is in the type of accommodation selected: the lodgings along the route change, with overnight stays in luxury lodges and camps. It is precisely this different choice of accommodation that makes the overall experience completely different and unique, while keeping the travel itinerary unchanged.

Tour itinerary

Day 1, Kilimanjaro – Arusha

Arrival at Kilimanjaro; completion of customs formalities and meeting with the guide/driver who will accompany you throughout the trip. Transfer to Arusha, which is about an hour and a half away.

Check-in at the lodge; afternoon to rest after the journey. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2, Arusha – Tarangire

Breakfast at the lodge. Early morning departure for Tarangire. During the journey, first photo safari in Tarangire Park, famous for its large number of elephants and beautiful baobab trees.

Lunch at a lodge along the way. Continuation of the safari and arrival at the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3, Tarangire – Manyara

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for Lake Manyara with a packed lunch (lunch box). The scenery changes completely compared to Tarangire: from the reddish desert to a predominantly green environment, where more than half of the park is occupied by the lake and the rest by forest (home to many species of monkeys).

First photo safari in one of Tanzania's most biodiverse parks, declared a World Heritage Site in 1981. It is home to over 380 species of birds, offering the spectacle of large flocks rather than individual sightings. During the green rainy season, the lake is frequented by thousands of flamingos.

Arrival at the camp in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Giorno 4, Manyara – Serengeti

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for Serengeti National Park.

En route, visit one of the many Masai villages in the area. Arrival at the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, photo safari in the park.

Return to camp, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 5 - 6, Serengeti

Full days of photo safaris in Serengeti National Park, one of the richest and most beautiful parks in Africa and the setting for the famous and spectacular Great Migration.

Picnic lunches during the safari (lunch boxes) or at the camp (at the discretion of guests – to be agreed with your guide). Dinners and overnight stays at the camp.

Giorno 7, Serengeti - Riserva Naturale Ngorongoro

Breakfast at the lodge. Departure for Ngorongoro with picnic lunch (lunch box). Today we will descend into the crater, a huge volcanic caldera formed about two and a half million years ago by the collapse of the now inactive volcano. A 20 km wide amphitheater with 600-meter high walls that is home to an incredible number of animals, including the “big five”: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhinoceros. The latter, although present in the Serengeti, where it is rarely seen and only from a distance, can be easily observed in the crater. The spectacle continues with wildebeests, buffalos, cheetahs, zebras,

hyenas and more, as well as a wide variety of birds, including thousands of pink flamingos, buzzards, hawks, ostriches and eagles. In a way, the crater offers everything the animals need, a sort of paradise on earth, but it can also be a source of major and bloody struggles for survival.

At the end of the day, check-in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8, Ngorongoro - Arusha - Kilimanjaro - return

Breakfast at the lodge, then transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport with a stop at a restaurant in Arusha for lunch. Return flight.

End of our services.
