Il programma “Acqua sicura per le scuole” fornisce, attraverso il nostro partner Vestergaard (LifeStraw), sistemi di filtrazione dell’acqua destinati alle scuole situate in aree remote, dove l’accesso all’acqua potabile è limitato o particolarmente difficoltoso. Garantire l’accesso ad acqua potabile sicura rappresenta uno degli interventi più efficaci per migliorare le condizioni di vita e il benessere delle comunità. Per questo, il programma propone una soluzione sostenibile, semplice e non invasiva, attraverso l’installazione di filtri comunitari capaci di depurare grandi quantità d’acqua e renderla potabile e sicura. I sistemi di filtrazione rimuovono almeno il 99,99% di batteri, virus e parassiti protozoari. Ogni filtro è in grado di depurare fino a 100.000 litri d’acqua, una quantità sufficiente a coprire il fabbisogno di una scuola per un periodo indicativo compreso tra tre e cinque anni. Il sistema non utilizza sostanze chimiche e non richiede elettricità né batterie, rendendolo particolarmente adatto anche a contesti privi di infrastrutture e servizi essenziali. Per alcuni progetti è inoltre possibile acquistare anticipatamente un filtro LifeStraw prima della partenza e partecipare direttamente alla sua installazione presso la scuola, vivendo in prima persona un momento concreto dell’intervento.
