Gran Paradiso National Park is one of the most renowned parks in Italy and worldwide. It plays a crucial role in preserving biodiversity across one of Italy’s largest protected areas. With its extraordinary natural heritage, well-preserved ecosystems, and balance between tourism and agriculture, it stands as a model of Alpine transboundary protection.

Accompanied by a local guide, you'll hike one of the park’s many scenic trails, chosen according to your fitness level. Popular routes include those to the Vittorio Sella refuge, Herbetet and Money huts, Loie Lake, Grauson pastures, Lussert lakes, and Coronas Lake. Less frequented but equally beautiful are the Nomenon huts, Trajo valley, and Valeille up to the Arolla hut. Hiking boots and appropriate trekking clothing are required.

Begin your day in Aosta, the ancient Augusta Praetoria. Visit the imposing Arch of Augustus, the well-preserved Porta Praetoria, the majestic Roman Theatre, and the evocative Cryptoporticus—all relics of Roman history.
Admire the Cathedral with its medieval frescoes and end your visit wandering the historic city center, where every stone tells centuries of stories.

Continue to the Fénis Castle, a perfectly preserved medieval fortress featuring double crenellated walls and elegant towers. Explore the Hall of Arms, the monumental kitchen, the refectory, noble rooms, and a chapel richly decorated with frescoes. At the heart of the manor lies an enchanted frescoed courtyard with a semicircular staircase, wise men, prophets, and saints like St. George and St. Christopher.

End the day by exploring the unique mountain viticulture of the region. Visit a symbolic local winery, known both for its bold architecture and the high quality of its wines, which you will have the chance to taste.

Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Visit the Cogne magnetite mines, among the highest in Europe, with over 100 kilometers of tunnels telling the story of generations of miners. This unique experience takes you to the heart of the mountain aboard a vintage train, covering 1.5 km through the old mining gallery.

Step into a world frozen in time: original chambers, authentic tools, internal crushers, and machinery left exactly as the miners abandoned them. Even from the outside, the scenery is breathtaking, with sweeping views from Mont Blanc to Gran Paradiso. Each step is a journey through memory, silence, history, and the echo of steel in stone. The temperature in the mine is a constant 7°C. Please wear sneakers or hiking shoes, a jacket, and long trousers.

After the visit, return to the hotel: take time to relax body and soul in the hotel’s spacious Spa, or drive a short distance to the Paradisia Alpine Botanical Garden, located in the heart of the park at 1,700 meters altitude.
