Tour itinerary

Day 1, arrival in Sardinia

Arrive in Alghero by flight (not included in the package).

Upon your arrival at the airport, pick up your rental car and proceed to your destination. Check into your hotel and enjoy free time to take advantage of the resort’s amenities.

Overnight stay.

Day 2, Alghero, the Catalan City

After breakfast, meet your private guide for a city tour.

The guided visit begins in Alghero’s historic centre, with its narrow-cobbled streets and Aragonese walls overlooking the sea. You will explore ancient churches, defensive towers and bastions, listening to stories of Catalan rule and local traditions. Then continue towards the Cathedral of Santa Maria and the civic market, rich in scents and colours. Along the route you’ll admire suggestive views over the gulf and learn about the Algherese language and Sardinian culture.

The remainder of the day is yours to explore the city.

Overnight stay.

Day 3, Neptune’s Grottoes and Sardinian Wines

In the morning, depart from Alghero’s port on an exciting excursion to Neptune’s Grottoes, one of Sardinia’s most fascinating natural treasures.

The boat ride follows the dramatic coastline of Capo Caccia, offering breathtaking views over crystal-clear waters. After about half an hour, you’ll arrive at the grottos’ entrance, where a guided tour awaits you among grand halls full of stalactites and stalagmites, underground lakes, and natural light effects that create a magical atmosphere. You’ll uncover legends and stories tied to this enchanted place, experiencing nature, adventure, and beauty.

In the afternoon, visit a winery near Alghero. Besides Sardinia’s classics like Vermentino, Monica, and Cannonau, you’ll taste the rare Torbato, produced only in the Alghero area with a vine of Catalan origin.

Return to Alghero for overnight stay.

Day 4, Santu Antine and the Nuragic Civilization

After breakfast, depart Alghero and head toward the island's interior. The visit to the Nuragic complex of Santu Antine is a journey back in time into the heart of the Nuragic civilization. Located in the plain of Torralba, in a quiet and open landscape, the site is dominated by an imposing trilobate nuraghe dating back to the 15th century BC, one of the largest and best-preserved in Sardinia.

With an expert guide, you will explore interior corridors, spiral stone staircases, and large vaulted chambers—testimonies to remarkable architectural skill. Outside, the ruins of the nuragic village tell of everyday life in a fascinating ancient society.

After the visit, proceed to the Ecoluxury Retreat Su Gologone Experience Hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5, discovering Sardinian Traditions

A jeep excursion into Monte Corrasi, at the wild core of the Supramonte of Oliena, is an exhilarating journey through breathtaking panoramas and ancient traditions. Depart from the hotel along dirt tracks crossing holm oak forests, deep gorges, and limestone rock formations shaped by time. Along the way, stop briefly to admire views and hear stories about the nature and history of the region.

The day culminates in a traditional shepherd’s lunch, in an ancient sheepfold or beneath trees, where you taste typical dishes like the famous porcheddu, local cheeses, Sardinian sweets, all accompanied by Cannonau wine. An authentic experience, combining the rugged beauty of the mountains with the warm hospitality of Barbarinia.

Return to your hotel to enjoy its amenities. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6, relaxation in Sardinia

This day is all yours.

At Su Gologone you’ll find a wide range of activities during your stay: cooking classes, art and craft trails, excursions to discover the most authentic natural and cultural wonders of the territory. Within the property, the six Botteghe dell’Arte are true creative workshops—in design, ceramics, painting, and embroidery—hosted in the old stables, where you can attend classes or purchase “Su Gologone Style” creations.

Alternatively, drive for a short distance to the vibrant town of Cala Gonone or enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Orosei.

Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7, trekking in the Gennargentu

This morning, after a 4×4 transfer from your hotel, embark on a trekking excursion through the majestic Gennargentu massif.

The hike begins at Pradu, at about 1,200 meters elevation, winding through breathtaking landscapes, crossing the Sovana plateau, where nature’s silence is broken only by wind and birds. Along the trail you’ll have the chance to observe endemic plants, wildlife, and spectacular geological formations. The trail ends in the enchanting Lanaitto valley, rich in history, caves, and mystery, delivering an immersive experience between untamed nature and timeless atmospheres.

Return to the hotel at the end of the hike, enjoy free time and dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8, departure

After breakfast, head to Olbia Airport in good time to return the rental car before your flight home.
