Description

An itinerary to get in touch with the history and culture of this wonderful country, visiting the main attractions of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas such as Pashupatinath, sacred city for Hindus and famous for the rites of cremation and purification, and Boudhanath, where there is the largest Buddhist stupa, about 2,500 years old. Continue with a visit to the central part of Nepal, consisting of characteristic villages such as Dhulikhel (called the Queen of the Hills), Panauti and Bandipur, where you can enjoy the essence of the traditional villages admiring very evocative views. The journey continues with the town of Pokhara, located on Lake Phewa, where you can enjoy the wonderful of the Himalayan massif.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Kathmandu

Meet and greet on arrival in Kathmandu. After the custom formalities private transfer to  hotel. Check-in in the reserved deluxe room. Brief walking through the ancient city visiting Durban Square, with its ancient buildings and temples, the living goddess Kumari Temple and Ason, the spices market. Stop for lunch at restaurant Durban View.  After lunch transfer by trishaw to Thamel for the visit of famous “stupa” Swayambunath.The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Kathmandu

After breakfast morning visit of two sanctuaries at short distance from Kathmandu: Pashupatinat, Hindu, on the banks of the sacred torrent Bagmati and Bodnath, Buddhist, a gigantic "stupa" of the 7th century, remade in the 15th century, with around the monasteries of the 4 main orders of monks of the Buddhist-tantric rite. Transfer to Patan, an ancient city dating from the 2nd century B.C. adjacent to Kathmandu. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon visit of the Royal Palace and the major temples. At the end of the visit return to Kathmandu. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

Day 3 - Kathmandu - Dhulikhel

After breakfast morning visit of Bhatghaon (Bhaktapur), capital from the 14th to the 16th century, situated on a hill bordering the banks of the Hanumante River. You will visit the 55 window palace , built in 1427, where you’ll enter through the beautiful Golden Gate. Continue with Taumachi Square, with Nytapole Pagoda and two temples, Tachupal Square, the old town center. Visit of wood carving workshops, Vasai Square. Lunch in a local restaurant, then departure towards Dhulikhel, also called "Queen of the Hills". Accommodation at hotel and in the afternoon visit of the bazar and excursion to admire the Himalayan sunset. Return to your hotel for dinner. Overnight.

Day 4 - Dhulikhel - Namo Buddha - Panauti - Dhulikhel

Breakfast. Departure for Namo Buddha, a historic spot on a hill, where the Buddha, in his first life, offered his body to a hungry tiger so that he could feed his cubs. Visit of the beautiful monastery Thrangu Tashi Yangtse built in 1976. At the end of the visit, departure for a 2 hour trek until you’ll reach the village of Panauti. Panauti is a very traditional village where we find the beautiful Mahadev Temple of Indreshwar, the oldest preserved Hindu temple in Nepal. The temple is the religious center of this area and thousands of devotees pray for salvation and liberation. Return to your hotel by car. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - Dhulikhel - Kurintar

Breakfast. Departure by car to Kurintar. Arrival and accommodation at lodge. Lunch. Hike through the hills to visit the villages of Chepang and Magar, with fascinating views of waterfalls and natural pools (about 2 hours). At the end of the excursion return to the lodge by car. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6 - Kurintar - Bandipur - Pokhara

Breakfast. In the morning transfer to Bandipur and visit the main square and bazaar. Lunch at the traditional Gaun Ghar. After lunch transfer to Pokhara. Arrival at hotel and rest of the afternoon free. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - Pokhara

Full day of trekking. You will be accompanied by a professional nature guide through hills and local villages with breathtaking views of Lake Phewa and the Annapurna chain. Visit the Peace Pagoda, the largest Buddhist stupa in the area. Packed lunch. Continue for the walk through cultivated fields to the resort. Rest of the afternoon free. Dinner and overnight at the hotel

 

Day 8 - Pokhara – Kathmandu

Breakfast. Free time until check-out. By boat you will reach the other side of the lake (about 30 minutes) and transfer by car to Kathmandu. Lunch in a local restaurant on the way. Arrival and hotel accommodation. Typical Nepalese dinner in a restaurant with a local ethnic cultural show. Overnight.

Day 9 - Kathmandu

Breakfast. Transfer to airport. End of services.
