The Republic of Botswana, is a vast state of Southern Africa inserted between Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Its territory has no access to the sea and is occupied for about 70% by the Kalahari desert with few watercourses. The population, less than 2 million inhabitants, is mainly concentrated in the capital Gaborone and in the cities of Francistown and Maun. The government is showing a particular attention to environmental conservation especially in areas where there are large concentrations of animals and very particular ecosystems. The Okavango Delta, in the northwest of Botswana, is one of the most important, but other parks such as Chobe Park deserve attention for its beauty and naturalistic interest.
