The Kasbah Tamadot is a walled structure set on the hills of the High Atlas Mountains, between valleys, forests, snow-capped peaks and Berber villages. Just an hour's drive from Marrakech, this retreat offers genuine Moroccan hospitality and is ideally located for exploration of the mountains by foot. Within the protective walls of the Kasbah is a beautiful garden, containing specimen fruit trees, a collection of cactus and a rose garden. Each of the 28 bedrooms, suites and Berber Tents at Kasbah Tamadot has been individually decorated with traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques, offering modern comforts. There are six room categories to choos: 2 Superior Rooms, 6 Deluxe Rooms, 4 Superior Suites, 3 Deluxe Suites, 10 Berber Tented Suites (six with private hot tubs) and 1 three bedroom Master Suite. Kasbah Tamadot supports the community selling some of the arts and crafts made by the locals in the Virgin Unite shop.
With an intimate fireside bar for pre-dinner cocktails and a stunning dining area complete with wonderful views, Kanoun restaurant serves delicious local and international cuisine. Kanoun is open for casual lunch, dinners on request can be arranged by the pool or on the terrace. Breakfast is always included and is served on the terrace next to the pool bar (weather permitting). Traditional Berber feasts family and multiple course tasting menus are available. Local Moroccan wines are reccomended.
At Kasbah Tamadot’s spa, Asounfou, a Hammam is combined with a full body Moroccan massage to achieve maximum relaxation. A Hammam is part of day-to-day life in Morocco, and it’s believed that the ritual’s heat properties are healing and rejuvenating, as well as providing time to de-stress. Hot bath with a few drops of rose oil can be a calming way to end the day. “Asounfou” is the Berber word meaning relaxation offers many signature treatments.
There are wonderful 3 level treks available from Kasbah Tamadot: easy, moderate or challenging. They can be a simple 2-3 hour walk in the hills or a full day trek with picnic lunch included. Overnight stay in a Berber Village can arranged. Mule ride trekking starts from Imlil and walks up to Armed, a village 2000m high. Guide and a family style lunch are included.
