Little Makalolo lies in one of the best game viewing areas: the Hwange National Park ensuring a great variety and numbers of animals year round. Overlooking a vibrant waterhole, the small camp offers wildlife activity even from the pool or having breakfast and it is the right solution for guests who enjoy privacy and the sense of remoteness . The six traditional-style tents, including a family unit, are spacious and en-suite, with indoor and outdoor showers. They are connected to the main area by teak walkways, where a towering false mopane tree shades a separate dining and living area. An open fire deck offert convivial evening under the stars. The pool deck shelters the bar and breakfast ‘room’ with evocative views of the much-frequented waterhole in front of camp. Solar power is used for tent lights and to heat water, ensuring a lighter environmental footprint. Game drives, walks and cultural activities are available for guests.
Game viewing in Hwange is very productive year-round thanks to the wildlife of this area that includes lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, giraffes, impalas and zebras. Birdlife is also prolific with more than 400 species. Wildlife safari are exclusive thanks to the private concession where night-time game drives are possible to see nocturnal animals that are rarely seen in the daylight hours.
