In the past, limited access to finance and social barriers significantly reduced women's involvement in economic activities. However, the promotion of group formation has transformed this situation: it has strengthened skills, confidence, and opportunities and, thanks to the support of Neptune Ngorongoro, has helped to safeguard Maasai cultural heritage through traditional education, beadwork, tailoring, and storytelling activities.
The project combines mutual support, personal growth, and capacity building, enabling women to preserve the community's identity, knowledge, and cultural practices for future generations, while improving their social and economic well-being.
The creation of these women's groups not only strengthens the role of women within their communities but also makes them active protagonists in the protection and promotion of Maasai traditions through initiatives related to beadwork, cattle trading, and cultural tourism.
