Description

The authenticicty of Vallée d'Aoste with its handcraft and enogastronomic heritage together with all the attention to a sustainable concept of travel are the ingredients of this tour suggestion. Smart mobility is the best way to discover the region and we wish to propose a one week self drive tour by electric Fiat 500 Cabrio to discover the region and the highest european peaks in co-operation with our Partners Ecoluxury Retreats of the World and Green Vallée d'Aoste.

Itinerary

1st day, Aosta - Cogne (68km)

On arrival at Aosta collection of your pre-booked car hire and quick familiarization with the brand new Fiat 500 Electric Cabrio. The car will be yours thorughout the tours. Departure to Cogne, if you have the time and if weather conditions permit, climb the mount to Pila (or catch the cable car): you will have a stunnign skyline of Europe's highest peaks. Arrival in Cogne, lovely little village in Grand Paradiso National Park. Overnight at Bellevue Hotel, historic hotel still managed by the family who established it in 1925. Accommodation in pre-booked rooms on bed and breakfast basis for 3 nights, possibility to add dinner in one of the hotel's restaurants behind supplement to taste the excellent local food.

2nd and 3rd day, Cogne - Gran Paradiso National Park

Day at leisure for activities. Possibility to rent e-bike. Make your choice on how to plunge in nature to discover and get the most out og Gran Paradiso National Park. With its Valnontey and Lillaz waterfalls, Cogne is a superb mountain destination aknowledge as "Pearl of the Alps", the prestigious association gathering highly qualified European Alps destinations. The excellent quality of Cogne's services and the shared attention to sustainable tourism of both inhabitants and operators, the aim to develop a wise and responsible tourism make Cogne a unique holiday place.On your arrival you cannot but fall in love with the green St. Orso's Fields and the magnificent Gran Paradiso, one of the peaks over 4.000 mt height. Overnight at Bellevue.

4th day Cogne – Courmayeur (50km)

Leave Cogne heading to the motorway (or the national road depending on your preference), allow few minutes stop at Pont d’Ael for a photo shoot before continueing to Saint Pierre, small village under the shadow of the namesake castle, 13th century fortress, and Sarriod-de-la-Tour castle. If you will prefer driving along the E25 instead of the motorway you could across the villages of Vallée d'Aoste like La Salle and Pré-Saint Didier. Mountain villages are gems lost in space, with houses in stones and slate roofs, preserving ancient traditions. Around Courmayeur you will find: Dolonne, Entrèves, La Saxe, Villar Larzey, La Villette, Entrelevie and Plan Gorret. Arrival at Courmayeur and check-in Au Coeur des Neiges. Two nights stay on bed and breakfast basis and possibility to add with a supplement, dinner at the Bistrot or choose the service Cooked and Eaten, having it prepared by the chef and eat in the privacy of your chalet.

5th day, Courmayeur, Mont Blanc

Going to Courmayeur you must climb Europe's roof! The three stations of Skyway Mont Blanc are a dream comes true, an engineering wonder beyond borders, a vertical experience reaching 3466 metres. The cable starts from Courmayeur – The Valley stations at 1.300 meters, where tickets can be bought (if you did not purchase them in advance). The second station is Pavillon/The Mountain (2.173 mt); from here starts the next trip to Punta Helbronner/The Sky (3.466 mt). Back to Courmayeur and overnight. From Peak Helbronner, through the Trans Mont Blanc cable, the journey will continue over the Mer de Glace, the glacier, up to Aiguille du Midi and finally Chamonix, crossing the Italian/French border without realizing. It is possible to stay overnight in Chamonix and going back to Courmayeur the following day before continuing the self drive tour.

6th day, Courmayeur – Breuil Cervinia (88km)

After breakfast departure by rented car to Breuil Cervinia. If you have been there yet, it is worth it a stop to visit the ancient Roman and medieval treasures, the Cathedral and St. Orso colegiate church. Other sites to visit are the impressive Bard Castle and the villages of Chatillon and Chamois. Arrival in Breuil Cervinia, accommodation at Hermitage Hotel & Spa on bed and breakfast basis, possibility to add dinner in one of the hotel's restaurants behind supplement.

7th day, Breuil Cervinia

Day at leisure to explore woodlans and hiking trails of Europe's noble peak, the Matterhorm.  The ski resort is liaised to Valtournenche and Zermatt. At Plateau Rosà, 3500 mt, reachable by cableway, there is a showcase of old photos and equipment used to build the cable line. In the valley, among the forest or around the Blu Lake  a number of hiking trails are available for all kind of people. Overnight at Hermitage.

8th day, Breuil Cervinia – Aosta (51km)

Back to Aosta to drop the car off and possibility to book a transfer to Turin station or airport.
