The 14 rooms of La Foresteria Planeta take their name from the aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean garden that surrounds them.
Equipped with every comfort, they have different furnishings with the right balance between elegance and functionality. They all have private terraces overlooking the sea or the countryside of Menfi. Crossing the garden, you get to the beautiful infinity pool, ideal for a refreshing bath from the hot Sicilian sun or to enjoy its golden aura at sunset in a magical fusion of peace and relaxation. The Planeta family opens the doors of La Foresteria's open kitchen to share the exhilarating experience of the new cooking classes. Themed lessons led by Chef Angelo Pumilia, planned for micro-units in a professional context. Small tasting adventures reflecting the historical and the contemporary taste mingled in a harmonic cuisine. Topics and processes presented will represent the Planeta family’s gastronomic history. Dishes’ tradition with their numerous influences, the study and selection of every single ingredient, will be enriched by the enthusiasm of the participants. They will learn, while having fun, the most complicated techniques and the mastery of mise en place and how a good glass of wine can match to each dish.
Ulmo estate is located in Menfi, few meters from Arancio Lake. Owned by Planeta family for 17 generations, it is the epicenter of an extraordinary territory where it is possible to explore, on foot or by mountain bike, the vineyards of Chardonnay, Grecanico and Nero d'Avola or walk along the paths of La Segreta wood. The wine tour includes the visit of the winery and the tasting of wines matched with a simple aperitif or the traditional lunch of Casa Planeta.
