The early 20th-century building completes the skyline of the Santa Maria district, which gradually rises from the picturesque little harbor of the same name, hugging the slope overlooking Ponza's Harbor Bay. Recent conservative restoration of the building has given new life to the area, which previously housed an abandoned ruin.
The first step in this recovery was the hydrogeological consolidation of the rock face. Special attention was then paid to faithfully restoring the original style of the building, consulting period documents and photographs for both the exterior, which was restored to its original colors, and the interior, where the domed vaults were restored and the original grotto and cistern, now restored to working order, were recovered.

Palazzetto Ponza opened in the spring of 2024. This six-room residence, in Località Santa Maria, is one of the oldest buildings on the island of Ponza. Recently restored, the building was faithfully reconstructed based on original archival photographs: the façade was returned to the typical colours of Ponza's houses, and the rooms retain their characteristic domed vaults.
Each room has its own distinct décor, with high-quality materials chosen to respect the building's original architectural style. Sea views reach much of the residence.
Breakfast, made with local products, is served on the terrace overlooking the sea. From here, guests can easily reach the island's main attractions, from unspoiled beaches to sea caves, and the residence's staff arrange tailored excursions to discover Ponza's most striking corners.
Staying at Palazzetto Ponza means living an authentic experience in an environment that combines history, culture and luxury. Each guest is welcomed with warmth and professionalism to ensure an unforgettable stay in comfort and beauty.
