Environmental Sustainability and the Luminescent Bike Path

Italia | Italy | Castel Volturno

Nabi Lakes Resort & Glamping has always been committed to reducing its environmental impact, incorporating green architecture since its founding. Daily operations are based on sustainable materials such as aluminum and recycled PET. The resort uses advanced technologies to obtain clean energy, including solar thermal panels, water flow regulating devices and photovoltaic panels. Internal travel is done exclusively by electric vehicles. Since 2020, an average of 10 new trees have been planted every month, helping to replenish the local biosphere and offset CO2 emissions. Currently, the oasis has a forest of more than 500 trees. Another outstanding attraction of Nabi Lakes is Europe's longest natural luminescence bike path. Made of stones that capture sunlight during the day and return it at night, it offers a spectacle of light effects that make the bike ride a fascinating and unique experience.

Laghi Nabi, in Castel Volturno, Campania, is a luxury tourist complex created in 2020 through an ambitious environmental redevelopment project, the result of joint work by landscape architects, architects, engineers, skilled craftspeople and hospitality professionals. This unique destination transforms the site of former sand quarries into an oasis of peace and nature. Set within a breathtaking landscape, Laghi Nabi spans a large area shaped by man-made lakes, lush vegetation and rich biodiversity.

At the heart of Laghi Nabi is the environmental redevelopment project it grew out of. The accommodations - including eco-lodges, bungalows and houseboats- draw on bioarchitecture principles and materials such as recycled aluminium and PET, designed to sit naturally within the landscape of the artificial lakes. Guests enjoy modern comfort in a setting built on the recovery of the land.

Laghi Nabi offers a wide range of activities for every type of visitor. Water sports lovers can try kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing, while nature lovers can explore cycling trails and birdwatching routes. Those looking to unwind will find a spa, along with yoga and meditation sessions. Cultural events, including concerts and art workshops, round out the offering, creating a varied and engaging atmosphere.

Gastronomy is another highlight of Laghi Nabi. The restaurants on site serve dishes made with local, seasonal ingredients, celebrating the cuisine of Campania.

The reclamation of the former sand quarries has also had a positive impact on the local community, employing more than 70 local people as staff and seasonal collaborators.

Laghi Nabi stands as an example of how a disused industrial site can become a tourist destination — combining natural beauty and comfort with a documented environmental regeneration project.
