Project description

The Rhino Sanctuary is a 54,000-hectare protected area within the Sera Conservancy. It is owned and completely managed by the local community. Here there are currently 19 specimens of black rhino, an endangered species that had completely disappeared in Kenya 30 years ago. The Saruni contributes to their protection arranging rhino safari tracking. Part of the rate paid by guests is allocated in a community fund managed by locals to cover the daily needs of the 18 black rhinos. area.
