At Soneva Fushi eco-friendliness is part of the resort’s DNA. The Eco Centro ‘waste to wealth’ facility uses permaculture principles and evolved into a waste recycling and food production centre. It is the base for the organic vegetable gardens on the island. The resort follows the three R principles: Reduce – Reuse – Recycle, not only on paper but in reality, and very effective. Eco Centro on Soneva Fushi is a little incubator, trying constantly new ideas and new ways of turning waste into something useful Soneva Glass Studio is a great example where recycled bottles are converted into artworks. The resort also recycles cans and plastic, produces natural fertilizer, mushrooms and uses coconuts in both cooking and agriculture.
