Sofitel Legend Old Cataract is part of the Planet 21 program of the Accor group. A program that has set ambitious goals, based on 4 strategic axes: the well-being and training of its employees, the involvement of customers, innovation together with its partners, support for local communities. The commitment is aimed in particular at successfully overcoming two key challenges: one linked to food and the other to buildings, for which the group has implemented the following projects: Plant for the Planet: invites guests to reuse their towels. The economic savings obtained for lower water and energy consumption are used for financial reforestation. Fight against the Sexual Exploitation of Minors: inform guests with targeted awareness campaigns. Environmentally friendly materials: most of the wooden furnishings come from sustainably managed forests, with FSC certification, while pillows are made from recycled plastic bottles. Soaps, shampoos and cleaning products are exclusively ecological and have labels that attest to their eco-compatibility. Healthy and Sustainable Food: restaurants offer a healthy, balanced and quality diet and use local products or grown in hotel gardens. They are careful to reduce food waste and not to consume fish species at risk of extinction and farm products in the open or on the ground.
