The building of the early '900 completes the skyline of the Santa Maria district that gradually rises from the small port of the same name on the side of the hill that closes the Bay of the Port of Ponza. The conservative recovery of the building has restored a redevelopment to the area that occupied the ruin, now in a state of complete abandonment. The hydrogeological consolidation of the rock face was the first step. There was a strong desire to recover the original style of the building in its entirety by verifying documents and photos of the time both on the outside with the original colors, and on the inside, including the cave with the restoration of the original cistern thus put back into operation.
